By 1966, the dial prominently featured the two superimposed aircraft logo, replacing the earlier AOPA wings for most commercial models.
The dial is matte black with three silver-white subsidiary dials located at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.
This model features smaller "Size 1" sub-dials, which collectors note for their elegant and discreet appearance compared to later, larger registers. It also features Tritium baton hour markers and an Arabic numeral at 12 o'clock, with white pointed baton hands containing luminous inserts. It features a bidirectional rotating serrated or "milled-edge" bezel that operates an internal circular slide rule. This allowed pilots to perform complex calculations such as fuel consumption and airspeed. The 41mm stainless steel case was considered quite large for its time, designed to provide a clear view of the complex dial scales. The dial is viewed through a domed plexiglass crystal.
This particular example, dated by it's individual serial number to 1966, is in excellent pre-owned condition with no deep scratches or dents to the case or bezel. The bezel turns smoothly with an even friction, and all chronograph functions operate as they should. The dial has, over time, developed a warm golden hue to the typography, chapter ring and sub-dials. The watch will come with a Breitling travel case and cleaning cloth.
