Seiko Prospex Speedtimer
Inspired by the iconic 1969 original, the Seiko Speedtimer is a modern tribute to a landmark in chronograph watchmaking. The original was the world’s first automatic chronograph to combine both a vertical clutch and column wheel, establishing an important chapter in Seiko’s history.
This contemporary Speedtimer features a striking yellow dial beneath a curved sapphire crystal, echoing the distinctive character of the original 6139. Bold red accents highlight the central seconds hand and the 6 o’clock minute subdial, while Lumibrite applied to the hands and vintage-inspired hour markers provides excellent visibility in low-light conditions.
A blue and red aluminium bezel with tachymeter scale adds to the watch’s sporty character, complemented by an inner chronograph seconds scale. The stainless steel bracelet tapers neatly from the lugs to the buckle, creating a comfortable and refined finish. A three-fold clasp with push-button release provides a secure fit.
Solar Performance
Powering the watch is Seiko’s V192 solar chronograph movement, which converts both natural and artificial light into energy. With an accuracy of -15/+15 seconds per month and an operating time of approximately six months when fully charged, the movement is designed for dependable everyday performance.
The V192 calibre also features a power reserve indicator, overcharge prevention and a range of useful chronograph functions, making it a practical companion for everyday wear and outdoor adventures.
Built for Adventure
The Prospex name combines “Professional” and “Specifications”, reflecting Seiko’s commitment to creating watches that are practical, reliable and durable. Designed to meet demanding standards, Prospex timepieces are made for those who enjoy pushing boundaries — whether exploring the outdoors or seeking a dependable watch for everyday life.
