The watch features a 44mm diameter case made of Oystersteel (904L steel), with a thickness of 17.7mm. Its patented Ringlock System is designed to withstand immense water pressure, a key element in its durability.
It is capable of reaching a remarkable depth of 3,900 meters(12,800 feet), far exceeding the needs of human recreational diving. This is facilitated by a 5.5mm thick domed sapphire crystal and a screw-down titanium case back.
The 116660 is powered by Rolex Calibre 3135 automatic, self-winding movement, which provides a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and is a certified Superlative Chronometer.
It has a unidirectional rotatable bezel with a 60-minute graduated black Cerachrom ceramic insert, the numerals and graduations of which are coated in platinum.
An essential feature for professional saturation diving, a helium escape valve is integrated into the case at the 9 o'clock position to release pressure built up during decompression stops.
This example dating to February 2012 is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition with minimal signs of wear, having been subject to a full service by Rolex in June 2019 at a cost of circa £800. It is provided as a full set comprising protective sleeve, inner and outer boxes, original warranty card, all booklets as provided when new, serial numbered hang-tags, and Rolex service paperwork from 2019.
